My name is Krijn Schaap, I am 40 years old and live in Almere, The Netherlands with my wife and son. Besides computers, I enjoy making things or just watching a nice movie (like Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Star Trek, the Inside Man, from Paris with Love or any of the Star Wars movies).

While I have received some formal education on software development, I am primarily a self-taught programmer. I have used various languages since my first experience with basic on the commodore 64, including a large number of proprietary languages used in settopbox development.

I spend most of my spare time making things, ranging from simple household projects, to woodturning, to complicated projects including electronics, 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC routing. My largest project to date is C2-B5, a 1:1 scale Astromech droid from the Star Wars universe.



I frequently visit conventions (both comic con's and makerfaires) with this robot, both for the enjoyment of visitors and to inspire others to make things.
